Getting Started
To begin, an internet connection is required to download your resources to the app.
- Activate Your Resource: Use an access code to activate your digital resource.
- School-Activated Licenses: If your school has activated a license for you, contact your teacher or school administrator for assistance.
Once activated, your digital book will appear on the Resources screen.
Note: If your book does not appear after activation, log out and log back in to update your account.
If a book appears greyed out with a download symbol (like the first image below), it still needs to be downloaded onto your device.
Opening Your Book
Click on a book cover to open it.
Features Overview
The Cambridge Reader App provides several tools and features:
Top Toolbar
The Top Toolbar includes controls for navigation and customization.

Back: Returns to the app’s home screen.

Fullscreen: Hides toolbars for an uncluttered view.
Bookmark
Adds the current page to your bookmarks. Access bookmarks via the options menu.
Search
Opens the search page.
From here you can search for specific terms within the following categories:
- Book Text: Searches the full content of the book.
- Resources: Searches any additional documents included in the book.
- Annotations: Searches the notes and highlights you’ve created.
Contents
Opens the book's contents page, allowing you to navigate through chapters and topics.
- Use the "Expand All" button to view all subtopics within each chapter.
- Use the "Collapse All" button to simplify the list and focus on main chapter headings
Options Menu
Provides access to advanced settings and tools

My Activity
View all annotations and links you’ve created in your book
- Use the arrow icon to navigate to a specific annotation.
- Use the pencil icon to edit an annotation.
- Use the cloud icon to delete an annotation.
Bookmarks
View and navigate directly to saved bookmarks.
Settings
Customize your reading experience, such as toggling the visibility of your annotations.
Save & Sync
Sync your bookmarks, annotations, and notes with Cambridge GO. This ensures that any changes made in the app will be available when you log in via a browser
Navigation buttons / Toolbar
The navigation buttons & toolbar will help you move around your book more effectively. We will explain how these function below.
Navigation buttons
Located halfway down the screen on the left and right sides, the navigation buttons let you move one page at a time.
You can also swipe through pages:
- Swipe right to left to move forward in the book.
- Swipe left to right to move backward.
Navigation Toolbar
The Navigation Toolbar provides additional tools for quick and precise navigation:
Navigation scroller
Move quickly through entire chapters by dragging the blue circle across the slider. As you hold and drag, the chapter title and current page number will be displayed.
Go to page
Opens a dialogue box where you can enter a page number to jump directly to it.
- Press OK to confirm or Cancel to close the box without navigating.
