How do I assign an assessment?
To assign language activities, select the + new assessment button on the teacher dashboard page.
Alternatively, you can select the Assessments section to view all activities available per stage and assign from this library.
After clicking the button, you'll proceed to step 1 of the assignment process. You can select your class, the stage, and a pre-set activity and preview the questions using the Preview assessment button. You do not need to select a class to preview the activity.
You will have the option to either show correct answers to students after the activity is completed or not, by using the toggle that appears above the Preview assessment button.
When you select a Class, if any of the students in the class have not got access to Knowledge Check, a warning message will appear with details of which students do not have the resource. When assigning, you will have the choice to assign to all students within that class or to specific students. You can also reset the assessment to your class. A message will appear below the Task dropdown to inform you of whether you have set this for the class before.
In step 2, you can set a start date and/ or due date for the activity or choose to skip this step.
Finally, in Step 3, you'll review the activity. You can either click the Schedule button if you have set a start date, the Publish now button to send directly to students, or the Save as draft button to save the activity as a 'Draft'. You can later make it 'Live' by choosing the respective option from the menu.
When you publish an assessment, the assessment appears automatically on your students’ dashboards.
Students can also access the assessment by using the URL link sent by their teacher. A URL link is automatically generated when a teacher assigns a new activity. This link can be sent to students in the class the activity has been assigned to. A student can access an assessment by logging into their Cambridge GO account and inputting the link into the URL bar. This will take them directly to the specific assessment.
As a teacher, you can copy the link to your clipboard after publishing by selecting the menu on the teacher dashboard next to the activity in question and selecting Share.
