If you are experiencing difficulty when trying to activate an access code in Cambridge GO, here are some possible reasons and how to fix them:
- You entered the wrong code
- You are using an access code from another platform
- The code is from the Cambridge Elevate platform
- You are using an ISBN instead of an access code
- You may be trying to activate a SITE License
- The book may not be original
You can use our Code Check tool to check whether your code is valid and if it is activated or not.
You entered the wrong code
Sometimes the code is typed incorrectly. This can happen if:
- A letter or number is typed wrong. Use the letter (Q) if you find a similar character because our codes do not include the number zero (0) or the letter (O)
- The number '5' can be confused with the letter 'S';
- The letter ‘J’ might be confused with the letter ‘l’ or the number ‘1’
Enter the full code. You don't need the dashes. - Check the code carefully and try again.
You are using an access code from another platform
Some codes are for other Cambridge sites.
Please check the URL indicated below your activation code. It will always direct you to the platform where your code must be activated.
English Language Teaching titles like Cambridge English Empower, Unlock, The Cambridge Guide to OET, Open World, Think, Super Minds, Evolve Etc must be activated in Cambridge One.
The code is from the Cambridge Elevate platform
All of our titles have now been migrated to Cambridge GO.
If the URL below your code is https://elevate.cambridge.org/, you can either register with Cambridge Elevate and use your code on that platform or contact us so that we can provide a replacement code you can use on Cambridge GO. Please fill out this form and provide the following information:
> A photo of the activation code printed on the book or card
> A photo of the ISBN printed on the book (the number on the back cover, below the barcode that starts with 978)
You are using an ISBN instead of an access code
An ISBN does not give access to learner resources. It has 13 numerical characters.
Example: 9781108771214
You may be trying to activate a SITE License
If your code starts with the word 'SITE' like the example below, It means it gives access to a site license product, which can only be activated by admins on a school profile. If you are an admin of a Go school, please take a look at our FAQ: How to use a site licence activation code or Where can I activate a site licence?
The book may not be original
If you bought your book from an unofficial seller, it may not be a real Cambridge book.
Some books may have fake or copied codes, which will not work.
Please get in touch with the seller; they might provide a refund or replacement. You can also fill out this form to contact us with the following information:
- Proof of purchase (receipt)
- A photo of the activation code printed on the book or card
- A photo of the ISBN printed on the book (the number on the back cover, below the barcode that starts with 978)
- A photo of the copyright page, usually found on the second or third page, with a list of ISBNs. It shows where the book was printed (Printed in...)
